Girl in the Mirror

I stand in front of the mirror, seeing the girl who gazes back at me,
I can see she has no worries, content as she can be.
She dances and she twirls, she sings and she dreams,
In a world all her own, she plots and she schemes.

The girl in the mirror still smiles at me,
And though we look alike, so different is she.
Burdened with no troubles, bothered with no fears,
The girl needs never frown, has no need for tears.

The graceful mirror girl stares straight back at me,
And though the years have passed, she still remains so free.
Though she’s just a mirror girl, lonely as can be,
She’s learned a life long lesson that’s she’s trying to teach me…

The sun might never rise, tomorrow may never come,
But while today’s here, be what you’ll become.
Never know when the mirror might break,
Never know which path you’re about to take.

Make the most of what you’ve got,
In the end, you’ll find that it’s a lot.
Grass may be greener on the other side,
So take a chance, and at least you’ve tried.

Not enough time for endless regrets,
What’s gone is gone, time to forget.
Do it all while you’ve got the chance,
Don’t leave it all ’til the last dance.

To Aie,

Thank You

From,
Mandie

      • i was just wondering your take on that. because sometimes what we see isn’t real. we see ourselves as worthless, ugly, unworthy of happiness due to scars, or weight, or even things that don’t exist.

      • True. Very True. Its a mind thing really. Because when I look in the mirror I see what you listed but that’s just me. However, the person who looks back at me doesn’t have to be that. We see what we want to see really. Just depends on the scars we carry. Sometimes it nice to just pretend that things are better than what it seems.

      • I pretend all the time. But my work reveals what I truly see. It is my reality. And, it’s not pretty. I’m a great actress, but I hate to act. Do you ever get tired of acting?

      • All the time…but when we stop to let the curtains fall will people understand the real us? You kind of just go with the motions to be accepted or just to survive really. No one knows your pain but you.

      • Very few do in my case. I deal with an incurable illness. Chronic physical pain. And then there is the mind, which is full of negativity.

No one knows your pain. But know you aren’t alone. The point of my work is to Write To Heal. We should Write To Heal together ❤

      • My friend has an illness where she is in chronic pain. I have something similar to her but its a step down. It goes and comes but when it comes it hurts.

Writing is my freedom. My escape when I cannot breathe in the Air of Life. Writing to Heal is good. I’m trying to do that slowly and stop being so angry. I would like to Write to Heal Together.

I also hope that today is one of your better days where you can at least have peace of mind and comfort.
